A Restored Mountain Cottage in Katoomba
Set on Leichhardt Street, close to Katoomba’s cafés, walks and lookouts, Katoomba Slow is a restored mountain cottage with a deep sense of character and craft. From the outside, the home feels modest and familiar; inside, it reveals layers of reclaimed timber, thoughtful joinery and handmade detail.
Lovingly restored over two years by owners Rebecca and Ian, the cottage carries both personal history and creative intention. Many of its timber features have been crafted from reclaimed wood salvaged from old boats, including kitchen benchtops, shelving, coat racks and towel rails.
The layout includes two queen bedrooms, a welcoming living area and a generous bathroom with bath and shower. Natural materials and hand-built details create an atmosphere that feels relaxed rather than styled, with Katoomba’s coffee, Cliff Drive and the escarpment all close by.
